NATURE & ABSTRACTION
Role:
Concept Design
Using geometric forms as foundational elements, create abstracted illustrations of two distinct scenes from Selby Gardens, Sarasota. These scenes were then transformed into a three-frame design board for a :10-second animation, linking the two locations without camera movement.

Research & Ideation
Took a fun field trip with peers to the Selby Gardens and was in awe with variety of flora and fauna.
Inspired by Oddfellows’ collage philosophy, I layered natural textures with bold geometry to create playful and unexpected compositions.
Problem
To abstractify the nature elements to geometric shapes were difficult, especially when it comes to curves, how to make the visuals stand out...
Design Iterations
What created another layer of difficulty is balancing the aesthetics of "3D" element with flat graphics, especially along with type involved.
Solution
Take Aways
Simplified the composition, to refocus on how to guide the audience's eye around the frame, similar to a camera move. Adding textures and creating a scrap book feel made overall design more interesting.
I got lost in the process and avoided tactile elements, but by referring back to the references I initially had over and over, this was ultimately got me back in track.
