Research & Ideation
Building a brand from scratch for a studio can be a daunting task, but Fiona and I managed to work together under a short amount of time to research deeply what would make it stand out.
Problem
There were so many ways the general branding can be too complicated, we were faced with a challenge of how to communicate that simple would be best?
We started by thinking on revamping the logo!
Logo Iterations
We experimented with options of abstract and containers, to give more flexibility for the team leaders and see if we have communicated their voices
Color & Typography
Prioritising on variety and for future designers joining the team, we tried to choose the most versatile font, and an interesting color palette that is rarely used before.
Mockup
We wanted to let the team's works to shine, incorporating the stunning pieces that they put in a lot of effort to, to display them for future clients to know their personality is the goal.
Solution
We believed the direction of the logo being in a container and the "O" in a different typeface, just goes to higlight how FLOW is a gem of a studio that the world needs to know. From these different details, simplicity goes a long way.
Take Aways
Although our branding direction was not ultimately chosen, we were able to come away with more understanding of what it means to build the first foundations of a brand, no matter how small it is and give meaning and life to the brand.
