WHO TO CHOOSE?
Nearly half of young voters are undecided, not due to disengagement, but either forming opinions or expressing dissatisfaction with candidates.

LIMITED OUTREACH
From what is expected of pre-2024 election, limited outreach contributes to young people's lack of voting information; only 19% heard from campaigns, 14% from local organizations.
Concepts

1
Taking on a serious tone, this design take begs to question the first time voters to reflect on voting and the influence it brings on the future. The use of grunge texture emphasizes on authenticity of each person’s voice/view, which All In to Vote embraces.

2
This concept was selected and design direction was altered later on. Highlighting from the client’s statement of “Celebratory, energetic….Needs to look cool and exciting.”, this selected concept gives confidence for the young audience to vote through bold typography and movement.
Process
The design shifted to a simplified collage style after the initial approach failed to meet client goals. This collage technique integrates diverse imagery and text, creating an eye-catching, layered effect that effectively communicates the importance of voting to young audiences. Visuals of megaphones and youth across generations emphasize the crucial and lasting impact of voting throughout history.
Design Iterations
The initial design with bold primary colors and polaroid placement failed to convey boldness through typography and imagery. To address this, I adjusted the color scheme for higher contrast with a darker background, making the text stand out, and removed the polaroid for improved clarity.

Final Design

Overall, I increased the saturation for the overall piece to match the energetic tone of the background music with sound effects and to motivate more young voters. The font size on the website was also enlarged to improve legibility.
Typography & Colour Palette

I chose different typefaces to create a visual hierarchy and emphasize key messages. Veneer conveys strength with its condensed bold style for "BOLDLY," while Neue Kabel and Beatrice Deck Trial provide clarity and contrast for the website link and "vote" respectively. I intended to make each element distinct and impactful.
The colors white, red, and blue reflect American values, national pride, and align with the All In to Vote logo.
Motion Tests
1
I decided on simple animation to communicate typography clearly and convince the audience to vote. I approached the piece as an ensemble, revealing BOLDLY, then using close-ups of the word to transitioning into Nov. 5. I opted for a square format for higher visibility on social media.
2
I received feedback to restructure the animation, starting with close-up shots of BOLDLY, revealing it fully, and transitioning to Nov. 5 for clarity.
Final Animation
I revised the animation to be more dynamic, focusing on stronger movement and impact for BOLDLY, aiming to capture young viewers' attention and pause their scrolling. The background music was made less serious to appeal more to the youth. The changes transformed a weak start into a purposeful, engaging design that effectively conveys the concept.
